PURPOSE:To provide a printer capable of simplifying a structure of a head section, preventing abrasion thereof, reducing the power consumption and print ing clear image. CONSTITUTION:A printer is so constituted that a solid vaporizable dye is liquefied to be conveyed to a vaporization section 17 and the liquefied dye is heated to be vaporized by the vaporization section 17. Then, the vaporized dye is transferred to a photographic paper 50 in the vaporization section 17 by a head section 10. The printer is equipped with a means for holding the head section and the photographic paper in the non-contact condition. By performing the printing by holding the head section and photographic paper in non-contact fashion, it is possible to eliminate abrasion of the head section 10 and to prevent clogging of a vaporization hole due to small obstacles stuck on a surface of the photographic paper. Further, the vaporization section 17 is opened so that a spouting property of the dye by the vaporization is enhanced, thereby accomplishing the good transferring of the dye to the photographic paper 50. |
