PURPOSE: To provide a method for using a huminate produced by the oxidation of a polyhydric phenolic compound and exhibiting inflammation-inhibiting and curing effect in the stimulation and disease of human and animal mucosa. CONSTITUTION: A preparation effective on mucosa is produced by including a water-soluble synthetic alkali or ammonium huminate having a relatively low molecular weight and produced by oxidizing a polyhydric phenolic compound. The preparation is especially effective for the mucosa of gastrointestinal, gential and respiratory systems and usable for the treatment of air duct catarrh, pseudocroupous cough, cough of smoking person, urethritis, local tumor, etc. The huminate is absorbed and accumulated in the mucous region and exhibits almost uniform action in the region over a prolonged period. It can be used as a feed additive or a feeding agent by adding to drinking water or spraying or mixing to a feed. |
