PURPOSE: To remarkably prolong the service life of a grinding roller, reduce the necessity for a repair and manufacture the grinding roller by a simple method with a high cost effect in particular. CONSTITUTION: In a grinding roller for a roller mill or a rolling mill and its manufacturing method, a roller jacket 7 is manufactured in one piece for mounting on a radially inner roller body 3 for increasing the service life at a limited manufacturing cost. The roller jacket 7 has rated breaking points 10, along which the roller jacket 7 breaks into a plurality of segments with radially directed breaking faces in the event of a corresponding stressing. Both the roller jacket 7 manufactured in one piece and the optionally formed roller jacket breaking segments are fixed in an operationally safe manner by means of a holding device 20. |
