PURPOSE:To obtain a sanitary package which can sterilize, disinfect and store medical appliances and which is easy to handle and inexpensive to produce by folding a gas-permeable sheet into a package and making its unpacking possible. CONSTITUTION:Papers and the gas-permeable sheets having a heat resistance to a temperature of at least 140 deg.C and made from synthetic resin, such as heat resisting film, heat resisting sheet, nonwoven fabric, etc., are folded into a package, each basic set of medical appliances 8 for use in treatment is placed separately into the package from a storing opening 7, a connecting part 5 of the folded-over part is attached to the package to seal it and the package is placed into an autoclave for the sterilization and disinfection thereof. When the medical appliances 8 are used, the connecting part 5 is torn off along a perforation 4 to unpack the package, so that the medical appliances 8 appear in the center of the package. For example, when a dental instrument is used at a dentist's office, by unpacking the package in a patient's sight, the attitude toward the prevention of nosocomial infection can be shown to the patient in a visible form and the patient can be freed from a feeling of uneasiness on the nosocomial infection in a convincing manner. |
