PRODUCTION OF PRESS DECORATIVE PANEL

PURPOSE:To produce a press decorative panel having surface smoothness, surface hardness and interlaminar strength by a novel method devised by improving a method for laminating or pressing a base material, an adhesive and decorative paper. CONSTITUTION:An adhesive 12 is applied to the single surface of a wooden base material 11 by a roll coater and decorative paper 13 composed of thin paper having patterns preliminarily applied to the surface thereof is laminated to the adhesive layer of the base material 1 to allow the adhesive to penetrate into the surface of the base material and the rear surface of the decorative paper. The formed laminate is passed through the gap between a plurality of heat rolls to bring the adhesive to a semi-cured state and thermally bonded under pressure by a press machine to cure the adhesive to produce a press decorative panel 10 having a smooth surface.
