PURPOSE:To obtain a parallel bundle wire for the reinforcement of a rubber article having excellent oblique shear strength characteristics and obtain a composite material such as tire, conveyor belt and high-pressure hose by embedding the wire as a reinforcing material in rubber. CONSTITUTION:This parallel bundle wire can be produced by preparing thin filaments 1 having metal-plated surface, parallelly aligning 9 to 30 filaments in such a manner as to form a polygonal cross-section and winding 1 to 5 metal filaments 2 on the outer circumference of the thin filament bundle.
