STEERING-SYSTEM OF ROAD-SURFACE ROLLING MACHINE

PURPOSE: To permit simultaneous control of both the systems of a frame steering and an independent steering of one roller. CONSTITUTION: Steering systems for tandem type surface compacting machine equipped with two independent steering modes; that is, the machine is equipped with both frame steering 3 and with individual steering 6 of one of the rollers 4a. One is controlled by a handle-driven control valve 11 and the other is controlled by an electrically controlled joystick-activated control valve 12. The machine operator can instantly select the steering mode whose activation with the steering wheel or joystick he deems most appropriate at any given time by means of switching valves 14 driven by an electric switch.
