METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REMOVING SOLVENT VAPOR FROM EXHAUST AIR

PURPOSE: To reduce an equipment cost and running cost and to suppress the adverse influence on the environment by improving the efficiency of a system for cleaning exhaust air containing solvent vapor. CONSTITUTION: The exhaust air is sucked out of a working chamber 2 and is sent to active carbon adsorbers 10 to 13 which are arranged in juxtaposition. Each adsorber can be switched to a charging mode in which the absorber adsorbs the solvent vapor and a regeneration mode in which the solvent vapor is separated from the flow of the exhaust air and flushed with the water vapor and absorbed. The end of the regeneration period of each adsorber has a drying phase, i.e., the drying phase which joins the exhaust air from the working chamber to the inlet side of another adsorber during the operation in the charging mode. The beginning of the period when the adsorber operates in the charging mode is provided with an initial stage so as to shift into the main stage and to return the flow of the air from the adsorber in the main stage directly to the working chamber. On the other hand, the flow of the air from the adsorber in the initial stage is kept separated from the flow of the air from the adsorber in the main stage.
