PURPOSE:To easily produce the color filter for a liq. crystal display by utilizing the optical shuttering function of each liq. crystal display picture element provided in a monochromatic liq. crystal display panel in the pattern exposure to form a color filter pattern. CONSTITUTION:A red pigment-dispersed photoresist is applied on the surface of the transparent electrode plate A2 of a monochromatic liq. crystal display panel A to form a photoresist layer 14. Every two liq. crystal picture elements Pc are driven in a light transmitting state, the photoresist layer is irradiated with UV from a light source B to form a photoset part 14a, the unset part 14b is developed and removed to form a first red filter pattern R on a transparent substrate 11, and second and third filter patterns G and B are successively formed in the same way on the substrate 11. |
