PURPOSE:To provide the waveguide type optical component which facilitates wiring operation for a ribbon of fibers and is long in element length. CONSTITUTION:This waveguide type optical component has plural waveguide type optical demultiplexer/multiplexers 12, 13, 14, and 15 arranged on a substrate 6 in parallel; and one-side incidence light guides 12a1, 13a1, 14a, and 15a1 of the waveguide type optical demultiplexer/multiplexers are connected together to a light signal source and the other side incidence waveguides 12b1, 13b1, 14b1, and 15b1 are connected together to a monitor device. Further, oneYside projection waveguides 12a2, 13a2, 14a2, and 15a2 of the waveguide type demultiplexer/multiplexers are connected together to an optical communication line and the other/side projection waveguides 12b2, 13b<2>, 14b2, and 14b2 are connected together to a light beam path monitor device, thus constituting the waveguide type optical component. Here, the other side incidence waveguides 12b1, 13b1, 14b1, and 15b1, and the other side projection waveguides 12b2, 13b2, 14b2, and 15b2 are all linear waveguides which have inflection points, which are reflecting surfaces. |
