PURPOSE: To improve automatic object selection in an image processing system. CONSTITUTION: An image editor stores the color pixel of an image to be edited in a pixel buffer 61 and a look-up register bank 47. The stored image is displayed on a monitor. An operator designates a screen path for discriminating the object of the image by using a mouse, and pixel position data are detected on the screen path. Based on the parameters of color tone, purity and luminance, a programmed computer determines the standards more than one of a search controller in real time. These parameters are determined by the pixel color data of pixel along the screen path. Further, the computer searches the pixels of the image, discriminates the object and its background according to the search controller standards and applies a color editing operation to the discriminated object in the image. |
