Light projection apparatus is adjustably mounted on a vehicle and produces a concentrated light mark on the road to assist the driver in steering the vehicle on a course parallel to the verge or to a marking line. The apparatus includes a lamp, a concave reflector behind the lamp, and a screen with an arrow-shaped or strip opening, the image of which can be sharply focused on the road ahead of or to one side of the vehicle by means of a lens system or by moving the reflector relative to the lamp. The reflector has a parabolic or spherical surface. The apparatus may be disposed above or to one side of the driver's cab, and the mounting permits universal adjustment of the direction of projection. A scale may be associated with the mounting to facilitate adjustment. |
