PURPOSE:To provide a broad dimming range without deteriorating the life characteristic of a hot-cathode electric discharge lamp. CONSTITUTION:Lighting and preheating inverters, 4, 10, respectively, are connected to respective power circuits, each of which includes a feedback loop 3. Part of a voltage outputted from the lighting power circuit is fed back to the preheating inverter 10. Therefore, the restricting of a lamp current results in an increase in preliminary heat and so filmanet temperature does not drop even with the lamp current greatly restricted, and a stable discharge can be achieved. |
