<p>PURPOSE:To improve a continuous gradation recording characteristic in a printer using ferroelectrics as printing media. CONSTITUTION:In a printer for preparing one or plural copies by developing and transferring an electrostatic latent image generated by the orientation of spontaneous polarization of ferroelectrics 5 by using toner 8, a latent image is formed by polarizing the whole surface of printing paper in a uniform direction and then inverting the polarization by partially heating (more than curie temperature) the surface. A thermal head, a laser or the like is used as the heating means. The size and depth of a polarization inverting area can be controlled by controlling writing energy, so that half tone expresion gradational in the area and density can be attained.</p> |
