SHEET MATERIAL FOR ELECTRIC INSULATION, PREPREG, AND INSULATED COIL USING THE PREPREG

PURPOSE:To manufacture a sheet material for electric insulation having a high dielectric strength and high resistance against partial discharging by using a sheet-form insulating material as a backing material, and laminating thereon a glass flake layer equipped with a specific thickness and particle sizes. CONSTITUTION:A sheet-form insulating material is used as a backing material, and thereon a glass flake layer having a thickness of 0.2-1mum and particle sizes between 40-250mum is laminated so the a sheet material for electric insulation is fabricated. As the sheet-form insulating material, a non-woven or woven cloth of glass is used, and glass flake prepared by the sol-gel process is used as the glass flake. This allows yielding a sheet material for electric insulation which incorporates glass flake having a higher dielectric strength and higher resistance against partial discharge than conventional.
