PURPOSE:To speed up a picture processing by executing an area judgement processing, a differential filtering processing, an integral filtering processing and a pass through processing in parallel. CONSTITUTION:An area separation circuit 5 judges to which area among a character area, a dot area and a half tone area a picture element being the object of the processing belongs. A selection signal corresponding to the judged result is inputted to a selector 9. Density data of the picture element being the object of the processing is processed in parallel in a differential filter 6, an integral filter 7 and a pass through circuit 8 in parallel to an area judgement processing by the area separation circuit 5. The processing in the differential filter 6 is an appropriate processing as against the picture element of the character area, that in the integral filter 7 is the appropriate processing as against the picture element of the dot area, and that in the pass through circuit 8 is the appropriate processing as against the picture element of the half tone area. The selector 9 selects appropriate data corresponding to the judged result in the area separation circuit 5. |
