MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the reversal magnetic field distribution (SFD) and electromagnetic transducing characteristics of a coating type magnetic recording medium using metallic magnetic powder. CONSTITUTION:Metallic magnetic powder based on Fe and contg. >5 to 8wt.% Al and/or Si basing on the amt. of the Fe and 1-10wt.% rare earth element basing on the amt. of the Fe or further contg. 6-30wt.% Co and preferably having 0.06-0.30mum major axis size and an axial ratio of 4-15 is used. The powder may contain 0.5-5wt.% Al and/or SiO, 1-10wt.% rare earth element and >20 to 30wt.% Co or may have 0.06 to <0.08mum major axis size.
