PURPOSE:To speedily take a countermeasure to an emergency situation even when an information device such as an automobile telephone or radio equipment is unusable by providing the emergency information device detachably with a storage means equipped with a storage part which stores specific information including the current position of the automobile. CONSTITUTION:On the emergency device for the automobile, a card 12 equipped with a memory storing specific information including the current position of the automobile is inserted into a card insertion part 11 detachably. When a confirmation signal can not be received from a base station indicating the reception of information in an emergency state, a CPU 1 alarms the driver of a failure in information through a speaker 9 and a display 10 to indicates the installation position of a pay telephone set to the driver, etc. Consequently, if the emergency state is caused, the driver extracts the card 12 from the card insertion part 11 and carries it, so that the specific information stored in the memory can accurately be sent to the base station from, for example, the nearby pay telephone set.
