PURPOSE:To alter to set an entire air conditioner to a suitable operation mode without stopping operations of all indoor units when necessity of altering the mode occurs during operating. CONSTITUTION:Signals are communicated among an outdoor unit, a plurality of indoor units connected to the outdoor unit, and a remote controller connected to the indoor units to set to operate the indoor units via transmission lines to operate the indoor units according to a common operation mode. The outdoor unit commonly alters to set operation modes of all indoor units during operating and to be started (S1-10-S1-12) to an operation mode of the indoor unit set with a largest priority level (S1-6, Yes) based on priority levels of the indoor units (S1-2-S1-9) when the mode is altered to be set from the controller. Accordingly, even during the operating, the entire air conditioner can be altered to an optimum operation mode.
