PURPOSE:To provide a method for calibrating the recognition optical system of a visual recognition device which can stably obtain a calibration value which is a conversion constant for converting the minimum resolution unit in the coordinate space within a vision controller such as an electronic parts packaging device to an actual distance. CONSTITUTION:A CCD camera 4 moves to above a recognition mark 2 provided on a substrate 1, the image of the recognition mark 2 is taken into a vision controller 5, and then the center of gravity of the recognition mark 2 is detected. After that, the CCD camera 4 is moved in Y direction by a certain distance using an X-Y robot 8 so that the recognition mark 2 does not deviate from the inside of the visual field of the CCD camera 4 and then the center of gravity of the recognition mark 2 is detected again. As a result, a calibration value is calculated from the distance in memory space of the vision controller 5 between the two obtained centers of gravity and the traveling distance of the actual X-Y robot 8. |
