PURPOSE:To improve a toner sticking state, to remove color slippage and to improve color reproducibility by using a light output from a laser light source as a light output for correcting attenuation due to a toner layer. CONSTITUTION:A laser driving circuit 68 for controlling the ON/OFF of a driving current for driving a semiconductor laser 51 in accordance with pulse width controls the light emitting time of the laser 51. When it is defined that when the remaining potential of a photosensitive body to be used for a photosensitive layer of a photosensitive drum 10 is V1, a light output is E1 and the transmissivity of a toner layer is T1, a current value for driving the laser 51 is set up so as to emit a light output more than E1/T1. A picture signal from a multilevel picture signal transmitting means is inputted also to a control part 62, and when the inputted picture signal is identified as a picture signal for the 2nd latent image formation of a secondary color until the duty ratio of the pluse width of a pulse-modulated signal becomes <=40%, the light output of the laser 51 is set up to >=1.2 times (e.g. 1.4 times). |
