TELECENTRIC ILLUMINATION SCANNING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To provide a telecentric illumination scanning system illuminating a liquid crystal light bulb preventing the occurrence of abrasion such as color abrasion. CONSTITUTION: An input lens group 12 transmitting light from a light source 13, a scanner which is optically connected with the input lens group 12 and constituted by a polygonal reflecting mirror reflecting transmitted light and the like, an output lens group 14 converging light reflected by the scanner 16 on the light bulb 11 and a polarized optical element 17 arranged between the output lens group and the light bulb for polarizing light converged on the light bulb are provided. A telecentric light area 21 is formed in a previously decided space between the output lens group 14 and the light bulb 11. The input and output lens groups 12 and 14 are constituted to concentrate light supplied by the light source 13 to the comparatively long band of light which crosses the light bulb 11 and is scanned by the scanner.
