PURPOSE:To provide the device for calculating polygon area capable of accurately calculating the area of the polygon at high speed. CONSTITUTION:The virtual triangular is formed by connecting the two summits adjacent to the recessed summit by a virtual line by a virtual triangular preparing means 3 when an inner angle measurement means 2 measures the internal angle of the summit of the polygon and a recessed summit whose internal angle is more than 180 deg.. A control means 4 perform the processing till no recessed summit exists. When the measured internal angle is 180 deg., a means 5 eliminating the summit of 180 deg. regards the summit not to be the summit of the polygon. A means 6 dividing the polygon connects one summit of the polygon without the recessed one and the summit other than two summits adjacent to it and divides the polygon into plural triangulars. Then, an area arithmetic means 7 subtracts the sum of the area of the virtual triangular from the sum of the area of the plural triangulars and calculates the area of the polygon. |
