PURPOSE: To provide a refrigeration system and an operating method thereof which enable smooth and accurate adjustment of the temperature of an air conditioning space. CONSTITUTION: A refrigeration system 10 is provided with a null cycle in addition to heating and cooling cycles to preserve the stream of air in an air conditioning apace without stopping the operation of a prime mover for a compressor. Controllable valves 28, 62 and 88 select a main condenser and an auxiliary condenser 108 to open or close a liquid line 52 and a line 90 for sending a hot liquid 177 to an economizer heat exchanger. During the null cycle, the valves are controlled preferably in a plurality of selectable specified open/close patterns. Thus, the null cycle is provided to substantially match the net heat gain or the net heat loss occurring within the air conditioning space at any time. The temperature of the air conditioning space is controlled based on the maximum actuating pressure during the cooling and heating cycles. |
