摘要 PURPOSE: To simplify an optical transmitter without limiting the number of stations to the number of wavelengths in use by transmitting signals having a wavelength selected out of a plurality of simultaneously available signaling wavelengths. CONSTITUTION: A head station 2 has laser diodes 6-0 to 6-4 which generate continuous lights having wavelengths λ0 to λ4. The wavelength λ0 is used for signaling control signals and the wavelengths λ1 to λ4 are used for data transmission. A coupling device 7 combines the wavelengths and supplies the combined wavelength to a terminal station (1m) through an amplifier 8, an optical coupler 9, and an optical fiber (3m). A receiver 17 receives the wavelength λ0, converts the wavelength into an electric signal, and transmits signals corrected to the wavelength λ0 from a laser diode 19 through a processor 18. A processor 18 adds the corrected signals to latest-received data to indicate that a packet from a station 1m to another station 1n is transmitted with the wavelength λ3 in the next time slot and the wavelength λ3 is not vacant.
