PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency and diffusion in the cleaning of air for a lower noise level by a method wherein a cylindrical filter element covered with a cylindrical cover is provided, an air inlet is arranged radially on a cylindrical base and/or along the perimeter of the cylindrical cover while an exhaust port is arranged orthogonal to the inlet along the perimeter of the top of the cylindrical cover. CONSTITUTION: A transportable air cleaner 10 is provided with a cylindrical filter element 15 which is mounted on a round base 20 covered with a cylindrical cover 30. A centrifugal fan 62 mounted in the cover 30 sucks cleaned air into an inlet 36 arranged on the base 20 and the side wall of the cover 30 through the filter element 15. The cleaned air is drawn into the centrifugal fan 62 and then, radially forced out. An air varying plate 69 changes the direction of the cleaned air passing through an exhaust port 40 arranged on the top surface 32 of the cylindrical cover 30 again. The stream of exhaust is isolated being orthogonal to the flow at the inlet, thereby improving the efficiency in the cleaning of air totally in a chamber. |
