An aerostatic lighting device having a transparent sealed inner bag (1) and an outer bag (2) made of a diffusing material having selected optical characteristics. The two bags are connected to a closure device including an inner ring (10) to which is attached the rim of the inner bag opening and on which is placed the rim of the outer bag opening, an outer ring (20) provided with portions for applying and locking it against the inner ring with the rims of the bag openings held therebetween; and a releasable seal (30) for sealing the openings opposite the inner and outer rings, said seal being provided with a member (35) supporting a rod (40) fitted with a bulb, the seal having a greater diameter than the bulb.
