摘要

PURPOSE:To provide a semiconductor laser device which can solve such a problem that signal light cannot be detected or processed accurately due to unnecessary photoelectric charges generated from a silicon substrate and can accurately and stably receive or process incident signal light. CONSTITUTION:Photoelectric charge shielding areas 20 composed of P-N junctions are respectively provided between a semiconductor laser chip 10 positioned on the flat surface 12 of a recessed section formed on the surface of a silicon substrate by etching and a signal light detecting circuit 16 and signal processing circuit 17 provided on the upper surface of the substrate 11 on both sides of the recessed section. Therefore, the circuits 16 and 17 can stably be driven, because the circuits 16 and 17 can be protected front adverse influences front light other than the signal detecting laser light emitted front the chip 10.
