High frequency industrial treatment installation, comprising an applicator (5); a generator (2) producing a first high power high frequency signal (3), connected to the applicator via a high frequency line; one or more detectors to measure properties of the signal such as current or voltage at various points in the installation or the amplitude of the electrical field in the applicator, and means of controlling the installation. The generator also produces a second, low power, high frequency reference signal (7a), synchronised with the first signal but with an amplitude independent of it. At each detector, there is a balanced double mixer which receives the signal from the associated detector and an activation signal based on the reference signal (7a) or on a signal (7b) out of phase with the reference signal. Each mixer sends two signals (11a, 11b) to the controller; one in phase and one in anti-phase with the activation signal (7a or 7b).
