PURPOSE:To provide a ROM emulator with a self-diagnostic function and to judge an abnormal position by connecting a ROM probe having plural connection terminals to a ROM socket and executing diagnosis based upon a signal entered through the socket. CONSTITUTION:The ROM emulator is provided with the ROM socket 12 for connecting the ROM probe 4 to its body, and in a state connecting the probe 4 to a ROM socket of a target system, a CPU 13 emulates the target system and reads out the emulated data from the probe 4. The CPU 13 writes data in a RAM 14, reads out the data written in the ROM 14, compares the read data with the original data, and when abnormality is found, it is judged as an abnormality in the part (a). When the data are normal, the CPU 13 writes the data in the RAM 14, reads out the data from the RAM 14 through the probe 4 and the socket 12, compares the read data with the original data, and when abnormality is found, it is judged as the abnormality in a part (b). |
