Detection and neutralisation system for toxic material, e.g. pollutant

System for detection and neutralisation of toxic materials (I) in air has (a) a neutralisation medium (II) for neutralising at least one of (I); (b) a detection unit for analysis of a cloud to determine whether this contains (I); and (c) a regulator to activate (II) as soon as the presence of (I) is detected. (II) contains 2 reagents and is activated by reacting these. On reaction with (I), (II) forms non-toxic reaction prods. Also claimed is the neutralisation media (II).
