摘要 <p>Two plate surfaces (5) arranged in a V-shape are provided, and bores are made in the central portions of the plate surfaces, a shaft (1) being passed through the bores. A diagonal bar (4) is mounted on this shaft (1) at the same angle of inclination as those of these inclined surfaces and rotated. A distance between the inclined plate surfaces (5) are set so that one surface of the diagonal bar (4) is positioned close to and in parallel with one inclined surface plate with an end of the other surface of the diagonal bar contacting the other opposed inclined surface. The diagonal bar (4) is rotated with both ends thereof contacting the plate surfaces, and it is moved from one inclined plate surface onto the other, i.e., reciprocatingly in the axial direction. This structure constitutes a basic mechanism for converting between a reciprocating movement and a rotary movement. If a cylinder is cut diagonally to form inclined surfaces and an inclined disc (10), which is obtained by diagonally cutting a cylinder, is substituted for the diagonal bar, these structures can be housed in the same cylinder. In this case, the inclined disc (10) can be used as a piston with a V-shaped space used as a cylinder chamber, so that this structure constitutes a kind of rotary piston.</p>
