The green fodder (8) is held on a horizontal platform (7) which is mounted in front of the manger (1) where it can be swivelled up and/or towards the loose boxes (3). A secondary feeding rack (13) such as a hay rack can be mounted between the manger and movable platform to prevent the green fodder from falling down off the platform. This hay rack can be rigidly connected to the movable platform preferably at a right angle and has at the bottom a drop down front through boundary. An upper base (16) for hay (17) can be mounted above the platform on the hay rack. A food distributor moving along the stalls can be used to supply and mix fodder. Computerised feeding is possible.
