The pressure maintaining device has a cylinder divided into a piston side (1) and a spring side (2). There is a piston (12) on the piston side and a compression spring (15) on the spring side. The wall (3) on the piston side is stronger than that on the spring side. The piston is smaller in dia. than the spring. A spring plate (14) is fitted between the piston and the compression spring. An outlet tube (7) is fitted in the wall on the piston side and is linked to a trap holder (8) fixed to the cylinder. The cylinder has a cover (4) on the piston side and a screw cap (17) on the spring side. The cover contains a connection (22) for an input from the guide and another (23) for a pressure gauge.
