Disclosed is a folder for a ring binder for use in combination with a bindi ng press for binding a bundle of sheets of material, the folder comprising an upper cover and a lower cover arranged to surround the ring binder and to lie over an upper and lower face respectively of the bundle of sheets of material within the ring binder, and a protruding lip member extending laterally across, and anchored to, the lower cover adjacent the ring binder. The lower cover arranged to fold towards the ring binder to allow an edge of the protruding lip member to enter the binding press and align with edges of the sheets of material, the edge of the protruding lip punchable through the sheets by the binding press without the folder fitted to surround the bundle .
