A digital voltage-tuning method for a broadcast receiver includes the steps of generating at 60 tuning data and a pulse width modulation signal depending on the tuning data; and generating at 70 tuning voltage of the selected channel by pulsing a tuning driving voltage by means of the generated pulse width modulation signal and integrating a pulsed intermittent voltage to generate a tuning voltage, wherein the tuning data generating step generates tuning data that has a non-linear characteristic which is arranged to compensate the non-linear characteristic of the tuning voltage to provide a substantially linear characteristic. Compensation is determined separately for each band of the received signal and within each band compensation and change in the pulse width duty ratio is determined for each of a plurality of sections of the band. The receiver may form part of a television receiver or a video recorder. <IMAGE>
