Brightness and colour signal separation circuit

A band-pass filter (12) filters out a first colour signal including a part of a brightness signal component from a composite image signal. A delay circuit (2) delivers a delayed first colour signal as a second colour signal, the delay time being an integer multiple of an horizontal scan period. A logic circuit (25) delivers the brightness components from the first and second signals.A first separator (24) separates a third colour signal freed of the brightness component by addition to subtraction of the brightness component to or from the first colour signal. A second separator (8) separates a brightness signal by addition/subtraction of the third colour signal to or from the composite image signal
