Air sprung bicycle saddle support for adjustment of suspension

The support comprises a piston (4) with sealing rings (5) within a circular tube (3) forming a compression chamber (6) with an end plate (9), a sealing ring (8) and a valve (7). The movement of the piston in response to saddle loads is resisted by the compression of the air within the chamber. The unloaded air pressure is adjustable at the valve to provide suspension characteristics to suit different riders. A further valve can be fitted to the upper end of the four sided tube (1). A detachable bicycle pump can be held by an adaptor to the lower valve and clamped inside the support tube.
