An electric drive riding greens mower (10) including a frame member (12) which is supported for movement upon a plurality of ground engaging wheels (14, 16) and upon which are supported a battery power source (24), an operator station, and a plurality of reel lawn mowers (18a, 18b, 18c). An electric motor (162) provides the driving torque for moving the mower between and over golf course greens or other surfaces to be mowed. Individual electric motors (22) provide driving torque for each of the reel lawn mowers (18a, 18b, 18c). Electrically driven linear actuators (190) move the reel lawn mowers (18a, 18b, 18c) between a lowered operating position in which the reel lawn mowers engage the turf being mowed and a raised non-operating or transport position. A unique swinging arm (230) on the frame member (12) provides for a pivoting mount for the under-center reel mowers to facilitate service. An operator oriented controls layout (70), which includes an operator communication panel (72), is provided on the mower.
