The method is designed for heating a meal consisting of a number of food components arranged on plates on a tray(17). The plate containing the food to be reheated is placed in an insulated container(1) which includes magnetic material(4,5). The tray(17) containing the plates, is exposed to a magnetic field so that it is heated by induction the magnetic material(4,5) which warms the food in the container(1). The container(1) has a hollow insulated base(3) an insulated cover(2) and magnetic plates(4,5) inserted either in the base(3) of in the cover(2). The food trays(17) are placed in a closed housing(7), which is connected to a medium or high frequency generator(9), induction units(8) are connected to the generator output and a support(16) holds each tray(17). |
