PURPOSE:To increase the exciting efficiency of an Nd:YAG crystal by specifying the radius of curvature of the curved surface of an emitting mirror on a resonator side, relation between the radius of curvature of the emitting-side curved surface of the mirror, and optical films provided a both ends of the Nd:YAG crystal. CONSTITUTION:When the optical film F on the resonator-side surface (K) of an emitting mirror (M) has high reflecting against a wave for 946nm, the optical film G on the K-surface of the mirror M has high reflectance against excited light and the radius of curvature of the emitting-side surface of the mirror M is equal to the distance from the intersection (a) of the optical axis with the longitudinal plane of symmetry of an Nd:YAG crystal 4 perpendicular to the optical axis to the intersection (c) of the optical axis and the emitting-side surface of the mirror M. Similarly, the optical film F has high reflectance against the excited light and the radius of curvature of the K-surface of the mirror M is equal to the distance between the intersections (a) and (c). In addition, the optical film D on the LD-side end face of the crystal 4 has high reflectance against the wave of 946nm and high transmittance against excited light and the optical film E on the M-side end face of the crystal 4 has high transmittance against the wave of 946nm. |
