PURPOSE:To enable a variety of printed documents to be formed, by a method wherein a line feed quantity is designated, and a printing-starting position for the next line is so set that the line space between the relevant printing line and the next printing line is 0. CONSTITUTION:The document-forming device is provided with, for example, nine kinds of line pitch information B, O, H, K. E, 1-4. Line feed K designates a forward line feeding by 16/12 inch on the basis of em characters. The paper feed quantity after printing character strings in the K-th line is equivalent to the character size with a magnification of 1 where a vertical magnification is an integral number. Where the vertical magnification is not an integral number, the paper feed quantity is equivalent to the character size with a magnification represented by the fraction part of the vertical magnification. Therefore, line feeding by the amount of the character of the character size, namely, line feeding with zero line space is performed. Accordingly, the first character string with the first character size and the second character string with the second character size can be connected to each other with no gap therebetween, which is suitable for forming, for example, an enlarged vertical rule. |
