PURPOSE:To make the size of composing members of a roll cross driving device by using pullback cylinders of a double action type in a cross roll type rolling mill and actuating the cylinders in the same direction as that of the adjacent roll cross driving device. CONSTITUTION:As for a cross roll type rolling mill where the axial direction of upper and lower work rolls 1 are crossed, the mill has cross beams 7, 7a pinching the front and rear faces in the rolling direction of upper and lower roll chocks 3, 3a, plural roll cross driving devices relatively turning the work rolls 1 on the horizontal plane through the cross beams 7, 7a, and plural pullback cylinders 19a-19d canceling a gap between the above driving devices during rolling or a housing 5 and cross beams 7, 7a, and holding a cross plane. The pullback cylinders 19a-19d of a double action type are used and the cylinders 19a-19d are actuated in the same direction as the driving direction of the adjacent roll cross driving devices. |
