The gear shift mechanism has a lever (2) able to move in one direction in three longitudinal planes (one for neutral, one for 2nd and 4th, one for 1st, 3rd, and reverse) and in each plane, can pivot in another direction. There is an operating rod (24) with a tube (23) surrounding it and the shift lever has a coupling element that is connected to at least one of these. The element is such that when the lever is moved in one direction it gives a sliding movement to either the operating rod or the tube. It gives a rotary movement when the lever is moved in the other direction. |
