The radio system includes a built-in facility to compare a received code with a built-in code. The code is transmitted as part of a data sequence and is selected when the radio or the vehicle has been stolen. When the codes are in agreement the radio can trigger a number of reactions, such as distort the output quality, generate a noise signal or transmit a signal identifying the location.
