The method comprises depositing a metal layer and oxidising part of it to obtain an oxidised insulation layer. These steps are repeated to obtain many layers of oxidised and non-oxidised layers, a support structure is formed for the oxidised layers, and the non-oxidised layers are removed to form spaces into which the liquid crystal is deposited. The liquid crystal devices are used for optical displays, the thickness of the insulating layers is easily adjusted, and a picture quality is improved.
