Fluid compositions useful to serve as oxidation inhibited functional fluids are provided. Such fluid compositions comprise a colloidal dispersion of an aromatic ether represented by the formula <IMAGE> wherein R1, R2, and R3 independently are phenyl, biphenyl, and terphenyl and n is an integer of from zero (0) to 5, and an oxidation inhibiting amount of an alkali metal salt of oxalic acid.
