PURPOSE:To surely prevent double feed of a paper sheet regardless of the size of a paper sheet by obtaining a timing when the extreme rear end of the paper sheet passes through an air suction port and a timing when the rear end of the paper sheet reaches the air suction port based on the timing of passing of the extreme front end of paper sheet and the size of paper sheet, and then stopping a suction carrying belt. CONSTITUTION:The lowermost paper sheet P1 suckingly carried with a suction carrying belt 52 is received with a carrying roller 54 and carried. After the rear end of the lowermost paper sheet P1 passes through the upper stream side end of a suction hole 527b, a part of the air suction hole 527b is opened, and hence the second paper sheet P2 from the lowermost one is suckingly fitted to the suction carrying belt 52. Meanwhile, before the part of the air suction hole 527b is opened and the second paper sheet P2 is suckingly fitted to the suction carrying belt 52, the belt 52 is stopped. Consequently the second paper sheet P2 is not carried uselessly, in addition, the timing of opening/closing the air suction hole 527b is obtained considering the paper sheet size, and hence the paper sheet is not rubbed unnecessarily for a long time. |
