PURPOSE: To provide an air bag module which can be assembled easily without using fasteners such as screws and rivets. CONSTITUTION: This air bag module 14 mounted to a steering wheel assembly has a cover 20 serving also for a decoration, an air bag 70, a base plate 40, and an inflator 80. These members can be assembled together without using fasteners; i.e., studs are passed through the base plate, the cover is assembled thereto, the air bag is mounted, the inflator is rotated after being pushed into a hole in the base plate, and the inflator is secured to the base plate. The air bag module assembled in this manner is mounted to the steering wheel assembly via spring fingers and a mounting bracket. |
