<p>PURPOSE:To minify a space in the longitudinal direction by separating a feed mean from the sheet in a paper feed cassette, when the paper feed cassette is drawn out from the set position. CONSTITUTION:A paper feed cassette is set on the set position in an image forming device main body, a forward feed roller 50 is brought into contact with a sheet received in the paper feed cassette in this condition, and the sheet is fed in the paper feed direction. Meanwhile when the paper feed cassette is drawn out from the set position, the forward feed roller 50 is diverted from the sheet of the paper feed cassette by a diverting mechanism 53. When the paper feed cassette is drawn out in this way, the forward feed roller 50 is separated from the sheet, and hence it is unnecessary to bring the paper feed cassette down like a customary device for example. Consequently the space of the image forming device in the vertical direction can be minified. In addition, when the paper feed cassette is drawn out, the forward feed roller is separated from the sheet by interlocking with that movement of drawing out.</p> |
